Introduce yourself!

Hi! I'm Sam and I'm an onsite event manager in Nashville! In addition to running weddings and events for The Get Together Events Co, I'm also a florist and run my own business called Sunburst Florals.

What's your hometown?

I grew up in a small town called Clinton, NJ, and have been in Nashville for about 4 years.

What was the path that led you to The Get Together Events?

In 2019, having just moved to Nashville, I was looking for more events to get involved with. I had worked as an event manager in NYC for a few years but never worked in weddings. I came across a post on Facebook that Lauren had shared, looking for new managers to join her team, and responded immediately! The stars aligned, and I came on board soon after, and never looked back!

What excites you about weddings?

Oh gosh, well, being a florist, I'm always eager to see what other designers come up with, but my real favorite moment is probably the first look. Whether it's a private moment between the couple that I can inconspicuously spy on, or the big reveal moment when the bride walks down the aisle, I get goosebumps every time– and I'm always hoping to see some tears from the groom!

Most used item in your supply kit?

Recently it's been fashion tape! Tape the "gals" in place, hem a groomsman's pants on the fly, you name it, the tape will do it!

What's your favorite dance floor song?

Either some old-school Nelly or Return of The Mack... so random, I know!

Where can we find you the day after a wedding?

More often than not, recovering on the couch with all the snacks.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

One of my friends in college once told me that I had "Travel Channel hair"– at the time we were living abroad and I was trying my hardest to find a way to be paid to travel full time. I can only assume she meant I could be on TV in any weather condition and look great ;)

What do you love to do on weekends when you're not working?

When I'm not working events, I love to go to new restaurants, read murder mysteries, binge-watch Netflix, and go on morning coffee walks around The Nations neighborhood with my boyfriend Tyler.

Any recent cause for celebration?

I recently turned 30 (okay maybe I'm already 6 months in) and splurged on a Jamaican getaway :)

An accomplishment you are most proud of?

I'm also a florist and I opened my own business called Sunburst Florals in 2021! I never really planned to be an entrepreneur or to be a florist, but I'm learning and growing every day, and loving every minute of it.

Favorite TV show you binged?

How do you pick just one?! A recent favorite would probably be Bridgerton for all the gossip, costumes, and of course, the set decor.

Any advice for future clients?

Remember to have fun! Your day will go SO fast, but The Get Together Events team has it all under control so you need not stress ;)
